2022 Westside Daze Parade

Jun. 25, 2022

We are excited to be taking part in the upcoming Westside Daze Parade!

We need volunteers to help make this event a success - and remember that this will count towards your volunteer hours for the upcoming season!

Here is the link to the volunteer sign up https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0548A9A92AA5F58-westside.

Here is the information so far for the parade, and what our board members have been busy doing:

Hello everyone! We are registered for the Westside Daze Parade on Saturday, July 9th.  . I just wanted to send this update out to keep everyone in the loop. Below is an itemized list of details we have started to organize and things that still need to be done. Typically in years past, we have parked in the staging area and then asked for volunteers to come early to help decorate the trailer and get the volunteers organized for walking in the parade. We also need volunteers that can stay after the parade to clean-up. I hope to see many of you out at the Parade this year!

Timeline for Parade:

- Staging area is open at 8:30 am

- STAGING completed BY 9:45 am for JUDGING

- Parade starts at 10:30 am

Trailer: We have found a trailer! Ashley Lane has a 20ft flat deck trailer she can lend us along with a truck to haul it.

Decorations: Ashley Roussin has volunteered to take this on! She has already started shopping and making decorations!  In years past, Westside Daze was typically on Canada Day weekend, but this year it is a little later in July, so the parade organizers have put a theme of Mardi Gras to the Parade.  If any of you have Mardi Gras decorations that you can add please contact Ashley.

Volunteers Sign-up: Ashley Roussin has also volunteered to create a volunteer sign up through signup.com.  We are seeking volunteers and players that wish to participate.

Handouts: Steve has some items/swag that RBC provided us with that we will use to hand out. We also will have some treats and flyers to hand out!

Jerseys: We need to know how many volunteers to expect so we can have jerseys on hand.

Music: We will use some canned music from either a speaker or the truck stereo.

Wet Zone: Of course the most popular part of the Parade, especially on a hot day! Volunteers are to bring their own water guns/soakers. We will have some tubs of water on the trailer to refill them.

Thank you,

Westside Ringette
